Description

Since the 11th century - the origin is believed to have existed in Byzantium - these chausses began to spread in the ruling classes but gradually became more and more popular with the commoners as well. The woolen leggings were worn tight traditionally, an adjusted cut never limiting the mobility with these ancient designs, opened from the upper thighs up. There are few ways to commit more to historicity in LARP or reenactment than to wear these archaic ancestors of modern pants.
